27wks today!!!

WOW! It is hard to believe that time is flying by so quickly. I can hardly believe that we have 13 weeks left before my due date! Life is slowly starting to change for us! I think we are starting to really realize that our lives are no longer going to just be about us anymore! We are gonna be parents soon so now all of our decisions will have to include Abigail! I realized last night that I could no longer see my feet when I stand up straight! My belly button is getting closer to popping out and I am starting to get more uncomfortable these days. I am also in the pre-nesting stages. I have a list in my head of everything that needs to be done, but since i am always so tired I haven't really started to tackle any of it. I figure that the bulk of what I want done will really happen come the beginning of July. My goal is to have everything done by the middle of August so that I can take it easy the last few weeks before our Abby arrives.

We are still working on painting the nursery. Hopefully we will be done with it by the end of this weekend. I am really hoping that the wall trim is done before Chuck goes back to work on Sunday. It has gotten really hot here now, so I will have to finish the dresser and drawers tonight when it cools down some.

This afternoon we are going to a funeral of a dear old lady who attended our Church, Naomi Addison. She was such a sweet woman, and loved God with all her heart! The last time I saw her was right before she was moved from St. Al's Hospital to the care facility over in Nampa. She will definitely be missed but as another good friend said, she is at Jesus' feet, right where she wanted to be. How can we not rejoice in that!

Other than that, life is pretty normal around here. Kenai caught a bird earlier this week and ended up killing it. His favorite toy is the laser light and he will beg to play with it! Chuck thinks that may be part of how he has learned to catch birds. I think it is more that he is a hunting dog!! Rugrat & Nalakitty have decided to take up residence in the hall bathroom these days. I think they go in there to escape Gypsy, who we are still trying to find a new home for. It will be very interesting to see how all of them adapt to having a new baby in the house!

Our plans for the summer include at least one camping trip (more if Dr. Lowder will let us). We are planning on going to family camp with our church again the end of June. It should be alot of fun! Will also be nice to get up north where it is cooler. We also begin our childbirth classes on June 11 for 4wks and then have a few more that we will take in July and the first of August. Other than that, not much will be going on except getting ready for our newest arrival!

Painting the Nursery

So we finally started to paint Abby's room this past Friday. It is so cute, but we are definitely not done. For me, the colorphobic wall painter, it is a really big stretch to be painting the walls teal & pink. The trim and closet still need to be done and then we will paint the shapes on the walls to match the bedding we bought. We are also in the process of painting the toybox that was Chuck's as a child and the dresser a darker shade of pink. There is a lot more pink going into the room than I wanted, but it actually works! Hopefully the painting will all be done in the next week or so that wasy I can start putting together the nursery together and not get so stressed about it.

25 weeks

WOW!! This has been a week. Obviously last weekend scared me to death. Then earlier I was stressing myself out over some issues that are at this moment out of my hands and really struggled in giving them to God. God really has a way of showing himself to me when I least expect it. I also have some of the most amazing friends that care enough about me to know when something is up and ask. I love them for it and they know who they are!!

I am now 25 weeks and 3 days pregnant with Abby. It is really starting to sink in that in about 15 weeks our baby will be here and we are really gonna be parents!She is finally starting to kick hard enough that when I have the laptop on my lap that it moves! She still hides from her daddy though which I think is hilarious! I think that she somehow knows when he is around. I am finding myself needing to eat more often and it doesn't take much to fill me up at any one meal. I am still not really gaining weight, which is ok for now. I am still about 5 or 6lbs under my prepregnancy weight, but have a feeling that I'll start gaining some more in the next few weeks. If you don't know me, you wouldn't even know I am pregnant.

Yesterday(Saturday), we went to St Luke's for our hospital tour. It was kinda neat. I think I was the smallest woman in the room. Quite a few of other women are going to be giving birth in the next 6 weeks or so. We were able to stop by the nursery and saw all the newborn babies. They were so cute and so tiny! Several of the baby girls had little bows on their heads........how adorable!!!

After the hospital your we drove down to the Farmer's Market. One of our favorite Saturday outings in the spring and summer. It was really crowded as usual. Chuck as always was starved so we then went to lunch at Red Robin at Park center. We sat out on the patio and watched the geese. Once we got home we took a few hours to rest. Chuck went for a motorcycle ride. Then it was off to Home Depot to look at paint colors for Abby's room. We finally picked them out and this coming weekend we will start painting. The colors are from the Behr paints disney line. They are Ariel's Song (teal) and Shy Little Piglet (pink). The dresser and toybox are going to be painted in Snow Whites Song (a darker pink) and the dresser drawers in the Piglet pink. The walls will have big bright flowers and other shapes painted on them as well. I figure it will take us a a few weeks to get it all done, but my goal is to have it done in about 3 weeks and the entire room done by the end of June. We'll see. Chuck and I always have different timelines and I don't always win out, he has promised me that we will have it done by July 15th.

Today's Unscheduled Doctor's visit

After having some pain in my lower abdomen Saturday night and a few other issues I called the doctor's office this morning. I was able to get in to see my OB this afternoon right after work and the pain and numbing is being caused by the ligaments stretching. He also checked to make sure that I wasn't dilating - which I am not! Thank goodness. My next appointment is is now 6/12 (29 wks) and I'll have my glucose test then as well. Oh, the nurse also wants me to start keeping track of how often I feel Abby moving now!

He also sent me over to meet with the anesthesiologist (wasn't expecting to see him today). I am glad that I was able to meet with him today and took over a copy of my surgery where the stimulator and leads were placed in my back. the leads were placed right where they would have to place an epidural so that option is now out. Bummer, but that is ok. If they did go with it, they risk hitting the leads and causing an infection and then I would have to undergo another surgery to have new leads implanted, which is no fun! So we talked about other options. The first being going without anything - Not gonna happen! The next being a saddle block. The problem with this is that since this is my first baby there is no way of telling how long I could be in labor and they don't give it until about 30 minutes before delivery. Knowing my body and my pain tolerance and not knowing how long I could be in labor, I am not sure that this is the way I want to go and wind up having an emergency c-section. The last option is to do an elective c-section with a spinal block and then they can work around the leads. This sounded the best route and kinda felt that that was the way the anesthesiologist would lean, but he's not the OB.

I am leaning more towards the c-section route at this time because it seems like the best and safest route to go. I want Abby to arrive in the safest possible way, but I also know that I am probably not going to be able to handle being in labor for hours on end with my pain tolerance! If I felt I could handle the pain & a possible long labor I think I would try to go without anything.

We will have to wait and see now what my OB says next month when I go in now!

24 Wks today!

WOW! I am 24wks today!! It is really hard to believe that I only have 16 wks left to go. Abby has been moving a lot today which is is great and at the same time kind of weird. Chuck finally was able to feel her kicking this past Tuesday night so I think it is a little more "real" to him now. Every time he tries to feel her move, she stops. I think she is already playing hard to get with her daddy!

Chuck went out for a haircut this morning and the woman who usually does it told him that about 3 minutes after Abby is born she will have her daddy wrapped around her finger! I tend to agree! earlier this week I was at Fred Myers picking up some groceries and was looking at the baby clothes and found the cutest onsie for her to wear this coming winter, it reads "Mommy & I love to shop". Oh how true that is! I am just banned from buying to much for her these days, at least until the baby shower on June 13th. Last night we went and ordered the material to make the curtains that will go over her closet, cover the glider cushions and hopefully make a padded bench seat and also went to a fairly new baby store here in town, The Baby Daily, and bought the cutest little nightlight for her room. It is a ladybug that lights up and will shine stars on the ceiling.

It is always interesting to see how much of my "To Do" list I complete each week, especially lately with the way I have been feeling. Most of the time, I get the laundry washed but not folded and put away. Today's project was working in the guest room and trying to get it so we could walk in there and not feel so overwhelmed. I still have quite a bit to do, in trying to reorganize the craft closet, which I have to figure out the best way to do. Getting rid of some stuff, giving other items away. The nice thing about this room though is that I now have room in there to move some of the nursery stuff in there so we can finally get started in that room. Tomorrow will be working on the laundry and kitchen. My house is never spotless and to tell the truth usually gets picked up before company comes.

Abby's bedding came in!

I am so excited! Abby's bedding came in Friday morning and it is even more beautiful than I imagined! I didn't want some dainty pastelly pink bedding for her room. I wanted something with bold colors and that is definitely what I got! The biggest problem that I have had though is finding curtains for the closet doors to match it though! We searched high & low over the weekend trying to find something and couldn't. This afternoon I went to Craft Warehouse and found almost the exact shade of teal to match the bedding. It doesn't have the polka dots on it, but thats ok. I am also hoping to have slip covers made for the glider cushions and ottoman as well.

Hope you all like it. We have only bought the 4 piece bedding and pillows so far. Still have to order the window valance.
