Abby's 4month Dr Appt & shots

Abby's 4 months old now!!! I can hardly believe it!! Today's doctor appointment was another well baby check up. Our little lovebug now weighs 11lbs9 oz! She is slowly gaining weight and hopefully soon will double her birth weight!

We are also going to start sleep training her. I am so not looking forward to this. She also wants to be help all the time but thats ok, I love holding her and I don't believe that you can spoil a baby to much! Maybe sometime soon I can go back to sleeping in my own bed......

Abbys 1st Christmas

Christmas this year takes on a whole new meaning in so many ways! We will never have a Christmas like the last 9 years because we now have a beautiful little girl to teach the true meaning of Christmas to and spoil immensely!! (Not that she's not already spoiled). We spent Abby's 1st Christmas morning opening gifts from so many different friends and family! She received lots of toys, clothes, books........so much! Santa made sure that she had a very special 1st Christmas! As you can see from the pictures, it was great!!

We spent the afternoon with the Briggs family and had a great Christmas lunch! Howard, Moira, Brock, Bryce & Blaine! They are so much fun to be around. They absolutely adore "Miss Aimee Moses" as they affectionately call her!

As Abby gets older we will be able to teach her the true meaning of Christmas, the Birth of Jesus, our Messiah! We look forward to watching her grow up and see her eyes light up on Christmas morning and start Christmas traditions with her....cookies for Santa, carrots for reindeer, reading the Christmas Story out of the Bible to her as well as "The Night Before Christmas", Christmas Eve jammies....Maybe a Birthday cake for Jesus too!

Christmas Eve

Tonight marks a very special day in our lives...Abby's 1st Christmas Eve!!

We are very laid back so it was a fairly quiet day for us. Since we have been in Idaho we have spent all but our first Christmas Eve here with our Cornerstone family. Tonight Abby was "Baby Jesus" in a very quiet celebration of our Lord's birth. She loves music so she was very well behaved. When we layed her in the cradle in the manger she fell asleep listening to Pastor Rich play his guitar. After service we went to Rich & Donna's for soup & snacks. Mac & Esther (Rich's parents) who live in the attached "in-law" house have a train around their tree that Abby loves. She just follows it around the tree. It kept her attention for about 30 minutes.

Tonight Abby got new pajamas from Santa's elves. She looked so cute in them!! A new tradition that we are starting with her will be to read the Chritmas book "Twas the Night Before Christmas" each year before bedtime. I am so excited for Cristmas morning this year!!!

December 2009

Wow! What an AWESOME year in the VOLL household!!! If you don’t already know,
we started off this year with a positive pregnancy test (on my birthday). On
August 24, 2009 we welcomed our first child, Abigail Grace Voll into the world!!
She arrived by C-Section at St Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Boise, ID at 7:46am
weighing in at 5lbs 12oz and 18 inches long!!! She is an absolute joy and God could not have blessed us with a more beautiful baby!!

Obviously, now you have the BIG news of the year!! Needless to say, the pregnancy was the best and worst part of the year for me. I spent the first and most of the second trimester sick. I left my job in early July and am now a stay at home mommy, which I love. Not much gets done around the house except for caring for Abby. I love that I can stay home with her and raise her myself. It’s hard to believe the changes I see in her from day to day, She went from being a sleepy baby all the time to being wide awake at least half the day now. She is definitely a momma’s girl, and is starting to look a lot like her daddy though. My parents were here for Abby’s birth and Chuck’s arrived the following Saturday to meet their first grandchild! Do I dare say that she is indeed a SPOILED little girl! She was dedicated to the Lord on Sunday, August 30th. Abby is now “talking”, drooling, smiling, and holding her dolly & rattle in her hands. We go weekly to the new mom’s group at the hospital and hopefully when the current group of us breaks off we will be meeting on a regular basis for play dates as they get older.

Chuck continues to work as a plant operator for Norco’s Idaho Air Separation Plant making liquefied gasses (Nitrogen-NF, Oxygen-USP and Argon).. His workweek is only four (long) days, so he has three-day weekends to spend with Abby and I. He is a great daddy and Loves his baby girl. All she has to do is smile at him and she wins! Just recently, Chuck received his Technician Class Amateur Radio License and is now starting to study for his General Class License. If anyone wishes to make contact with him (after Chuck finds the funds to purchase a radio), his call sign is KF7GMT.

I was able to take a trip to Phoenix earlier this year to see family. My sister and her kids have moved back and it was great to see them and some our friends. I couldn’t believe how much my beautiful nieces and handsome nephew have grown! We were able to go camping only once this year with our church for family camp in Donnelly, ID at the end of June - something I would not recommended if you are 7 months pregnant!! In August, Ron & Em Hubbard, along with their grandson Isaiah, were here for a few days. It was great seeing them. Chuck taught Isaiah how to make ice cream using liquid nitrogen – lots of fun! Chuck also taught Isaiah how to make liquid nitrogen bombs (ugh…).

All of our animals have and are still adjusting to having a baby sister in the house. It doesn’t really phase the cats but I think at time the crying gets to them. Kenai on the other hand has had some jealousy issues. Chuck tries to spend as much time with him as he can. I am always consumed with Abby so it has been hard for me to spend the quality time with him that I used to. He hasn’t eaten any of her toys yet, however we have been through more baby bottles and supplies than I care to recount!

As you can tell, our lives have changed forever with the addition of our beautiful Abby!! We are looking forward to raising her up to be a Godly young woman! God could not have given us a better gift this year! He truly does give us the desire of our hearts but only in HIS time!!

Sleep Routine

So we have decided to start transitioning Abby to her crib in her room. This has not been fun or easy. She is so used to sleeping with mommy every night. We tried for several nights to get her to sleep in her room. Our routine would be to bather her (if it was a bath night), lotion, feed, story, rock, then crib. We would let her cry for a while and go check on her. She had clean diaper, room temp was good, and she was fed before we put her down. After several night of attempting to put her down and it not going so well I finally gave up. She is now sleeping with mommy again. One day I will get to sleep in my own bed again!!
