Today was a busy day for us! We met with Joan the lactation consultant again today. The goal was to work on getting you to latch properly for nursing. I have to say, it really hurts!! I also started pumping today so that we could practice and get help before we left the hospital. The photographer from the hospital came in 3 times to do your newborn pictures, which you did not want to cooperate for! You cried and wanted to be nursed so it was a little difficult! We finally were able to get them done. I had put you in your coming home outfit and you absolutely swam in it! You are so tiny that it pretty much hung on you as if it were going to fall off! We could have fit 2 of you in it!! I guess you won’t be wearing it home or to church this Sunday for your dedication….
We left the hospital around 6:45 to take you home for the first time. We could not have been more excited to finally take you home. Daddy slowly loaded all our bags into the jeep and brought up your car seat. We put you in the car seat and the nurse checked to make sure you were in it properly (which you were). They called for transport and then we were off! By the time we were loaded and got home it was about 7:30. We did not call mama or papa to tell them we were on our way home so we surprised them. When we got home it was time to feed you again, so off to the bedroom I went with you (after you got some love from your mama).
Your weight when we left the hospital was 5lbs 5oz.
